Skye Museum of Island Life

The museum was opened in 1965. The aim was to preserve a township of thatched cottages, each one depicting, as closely as possible, the conditions prevailing on the island at the close of the nineteenth century.

Skye Ferry, Glenelg

This community-run ferry has survived the coming of the Skye Bridge and provides an alternative, picturesque and more traditional route by car to the Isle of Skye. The ferry runs from Easter until mid-October.
